Glimepiride is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, one
of the third generation sulfonylurea drugs having poor aqueous
solubility, slow dissolution rate and low elimination half life. The Aim
of the present study was to prepare Glimepiride loaded poly-D,
L-lactide (PLA) Nanoparticles by o/w solvent evaporation method using
high speed homogenizer. Prepared Nanoparticles were characterized for
the drug content, encapsulation efficiency.
